Biblical Deliverance

Deliverance is one of the most vital aspects integral to the earthly ministries of the LORD Jesus Christ, His apostles and the first few centuries of the early church. How times have changed that today many are either put off completely on deliverance or have been wrongly taught to fear the Devil and not to enter into his territory.

There are prevailing misconceptions that have been banded around for decades since the dawn of the enlightenment movement of the 18th century, and it is that demons, evil spirits and even Satan do not really exist, all supposedly strange spiritual phenomena can be scientifically explained.

It is unfortunate to have to say that many Christians, churches, and ministries have bought into this lie, which in turn has permitted the Devil and his kingdom to tighten their grip on society while continuing their surge with promoting merchandise designed to consolidate, if not entrap people in spiritual bondage and oppression.

We cannot afford to ignore or deny the existence of the Devil, demons and other subversive spirits because it fits in with the view of the modern world; anymore than we can afford to believe in the existence of the One True God. It is easy to write-off many activities that are spiritually oppressive, demonic and satanic in nature as mental, psychiatric and psychological problems; since it requires no integrity and pacify the hostile critics and the Devil whose aversion to deliverance is understandable but not endorsed by God.

The LORD Jesus Christ had to contend with many critics - some even accused Him of being the prince of demons because He drove them out of the spiritually possessed.

31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country. 32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew 9:31 - 35 (King James Version)

Therefore we should not be surprised at the disparaging treatment given to deliverance ministers who genuinely under Christ minister to help victims of spiritual attack become free.

Some methods of deliverance and exorcism in recent times as well as in the past have made headline news; and undoubtedly brought the role of deliverance in the Church into disrepute. It has to be acknowledged that some of these methods have in some very isolated cases made the state of the victims of spiritual attack worse off and it brought no tangible benefits to them.

The unfortunate and sad isolated cases that have made headlines News, gave deliverance and deliverance ministries as a whole bad name. This was not in our view accidental, but a deliberate assault by the Devil in an effort to have deliverance banished from within the Church forever. The consequence of the Devil succeeding in his efforts to banish deliverance from within the Church will have grave implications for many who are already victims of spiritual attack.

We also acknowledge that the Church and world at large have not seen the very last of isolated cases of spiritual, physical, mental and emotional abuse purported to be acts of deliverance. This is why it is vital that to have the right biblical foundation.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:7 - 8 (King James Version)

Given the negative press and stigma associated with deliverance and deliverance ministries, ironically, deliverance as practiced and taught by the LORD himself is brought freedom from spiritual bondage and did not exacerbate victims of spiritual attack and oppression.

Essentially Biblical Deliverance is about expressing the mandate of the triumphant Christ by adjuring subversive spirits to cease their wickedness or in extreme cases deliverance prayer strategically targeted to counters the effects; and negates the hold and impact of subversive spirits over their victims. When deliverance is properly ministered it will bring tremendous benefit to the victim of spiritual attack and yield glory and praise to God.

We cover a whole range of spiritual issues from ancestral covenants and curses, spiritual bondage and manipulation, demonic attacks to satanic attacks and much more.
